“[Filming] started bitter in the beginning ‘cause obviously you’re anticipating the end, but I’m just so happy that once again I got to work with great people,” the actress opens up while promoting her upcoming Netflix show, From Scratch, “I had an evolution that I witnessed of myself, but also my director and my cast. I just felt very blessed and grateful. It was a very sweet departure, I have to say.”
Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn revealed at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con that he initially wasn’t planning on a third movie. However, he does emphasize that this will be the last time fans will see the Guardians team in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Now, whether that means some of the members will die, vanish, or disband from the team is still unanswered.
Apparently, the reason for James Gunn going for a third movie was for it to end with Rocket, whom the director feels a ‘special closeness’ to, as he told on Entertainment Weekly. “I knew that that was what started me on this journey, was seeing who he could be and who he was, where he came from, and the thing that grounded me initially in the Guardians.”
Gunn did reveal one hint about Volume 3, though: that it wasn’t going to follow the events that happened in Thor 4, as revealed on ScreenRant’s post-San Diego Comic-Con interview. Although Chris Pratt mentioning Love and Thunder space goats are bound to come along on the Guardians’ adventure, it would seem that Gunn will have to include them in Volume 3, as well.
