As obtained by KBizoom, the actress spoke about the “casting controversy” and revealed that it was her manager who told her to audition for a certain K-drama. “I didn’t know what kind of drama I was auditioning for, but I talked about my family story in front of the director,” she said, adding “I came home after spending the whole audition talking about my life. Then it turned out that my life story was similar to that of the character,” As Yoon Eun Hye explained to host Kang Ho Dong the story behind the controversy, saying that after the drama officials chose her as the female lead despite her “lack of experience” in acting she started to hear negative things about her. “After that, I started hearing about the casting controversy. But I was like, ‘Why do you judge me without even looking at me?’ I didn’t want to give up, and the thought of wanting to try it was strangely exciting,” he explained. Fortunately, the casting issues were replaced by high viewership ratings as Princess Hours is among the well-loved dramas at the time.
