Who is the main villain of Chainsaw Man?
Makima is the main antagonist of Chainsaw Man, at least in Part 1 of the manga series, including the Public Safety Saga, Gun Devil Arc, and the Control Devil Arc, the final arc of Part 1. Early in the story, we learn that Makima is a senior member of the Public Safety Devil Hunters and leader of an experimental unit Tokyo Special Division 4, and her first appearance shows her finding Denji after he first transforms into Chainsaw Man (first episode of the anime) and offers him to join his organization. Makima appears to be friendly and caring to Denji, who treats him as a human. Denji even develops romantic feelings for her after their first encounter. However, Chainsaw Man Chapter 75 revealed that Makima herself is a powerful devil as old as the history of humanity known as the Control Devil. It’s also revealed that her personality of being a kind being that Denji respected is not what it seems.
What is Makima’s goal in Chainsaw Man?
In Chapter 84 of the manga, it was revealed that Makima is a number one admirer of Chainsaw Man, the being that was sealed on Denji’s body, and she wants to Control Pochita and use the Chainsaw devil’s power of devil erasure to build an ideal world. In her ideal world, the element of death, fear, and conceptually bad films don’t exist. She wants to use the Chainsaw Man’s powers to eradicate all the devils including the formidable ones that has plagued humanity for years in order to create a better world for humanity. But in Chapter 96, after believing to have defeated Pochita, Makima reveals that she wants to live a happily ever after with him. She even says that it’ll be an honor to get eliminated by him if she gets defeated. In Chapter 97, Makima can be perceived as a tragic being who only wants to feel love and empathy as she tries to create a world where everyone is equel to her footing so that she could build a familial relationship due to the fact that she was never shown one as the government raises her to be a cold and ruthless woman that leads the Public Safety to kill devils and bring world peace. It was revealed that Makima is one of the members of the Four Horsemen, the group of powerful devils. While we now know that Makima is the main villain of Chainsaw Man Part 1, there are other major villains in the series, including the other members of the Horsemen of the Apocalypse.
Who are the Four Horsemen in Chainsaw Man?
The Four Horsemen of Chainsaw Man’s story refers to a group of powerful devils, and as Chapter 87 of the manga reveals, they’re the only individuals who still remember the names of Devils which have been devoured by the Chainsaw Man. The Four Housemen consists of the following devils:
