Who Are the Contributing Artists in Bocchi the Rock!?
Aside from singer-songwriter Ai Higuchi, Kana-Boon’s Maguro Taniguchi also contributed to the songs performed by the anime’s Kessoku Band. In Bocchi the Rock!, Kessoku Band is the name of Nijika Ijichi’s band, where she performs alongside Ryou Yamada on bass, Hitori Gotou on guitars, and Ikuyo Kita on vocals and guitars. The name of the band has been a running gag in the show because it is a play on the words “Kessoku” (unity) and “Kessoku Band” (cable tie). The opening song of the anime, Seishun Complex (Youth Complex), was written by Ai Higuchi, and the music was composed by Otoha of the musical group 48foureight. Ai Higuchi is best known for her contributions to the composition, lyrics, and performance of Attack on Titan: The Final Season Part 2’s ending theme song. Maguro Taniguchi, the vocalist and guitarist for Kana-Boon, wrote the lyrics and composed the music for the anime’s ending song, Distortion. Taniguchi is best known for his lyrics and composition for the Boruto: Naruto the Movie theme song. He also created the ending theme song arrangement for Fire Force Season 2’s second ending song, as well as the theme song composition and lyrics for its second opening song. Kessoku Band performs the anime’s opening and closing songs, with Ikumi Hasegawa (Ikuyo Kita’s voice actor) on vocals. ALSO READ: Is the Bocchi the Rock! Manga Complete or Ongoing?

Hitori, the anime’s main protagonist, has always been a loner since she was a child. Aside from spending most of her time with her teacher, she doesn’t have any friends to share every enjoyable aspect of going to school with. Despite this, Hitori is optimistic about making new friends in high school. Her plan includes joining a band and performing at live school events like the guy she saw on TV. However, one month has passed, and her status as an introverted and awkward girl has not changed. That’s when Hitori met Nijika, who invited her to join her band after the previous guitarist left.
