In this sequel, however, we see an entirely new cast and a breathtaking location to boot. With views overlooking the Aegean Sea, we can’t help but wonder where they filmed the Knives Out 2 movie. Here’s what we know about its filming locations:
Pisceshite Island
First of all, let’s talk about that stunning island owned by Miles Bron (played by Edward Norton) called Pisceshite Island. If you haven’t seen the movie yet, we won’t give you a spoiler except that this isn’t a real island, or at least, that’s not what its name is. Instead, this fictional island is actually the Amanzoe Beach Club, a luxury resort and hotel that an be found near Porto Heli, Greece. Production designer, Rick Heinrichs, told Condé Nast Traveler: “It wasn’t an island. It was in the middle of the Peloponnesian peninsula, which would require us to depend on our visual effects to make it look like one.” The actual resort is closed for now but plans to reopen on April 1, 2023. It is managed by Aman.
The Glass Onion House
In line with the release of the Knives Out sequel, Netflix listed a property on Zillow for $450 million. The listing revealed that the 26-acre property comes with 17 bedrooms, 22 bathrooms, an infinity pool, a rooftop parking space, a robot butler, and glass sculptures. Best of all, the property has a stunning view of the Aegean Sea. Unfortunately, the Zillow listing is only a promotional stunt that Netflix used to drive publicity for the movie. The Glass Onion villa doesn’t exist in real life. This isn’t the first time Netflix made a Zillow listing as part of its marketing efforts. A few months ago, it also launched a listing for 657 Boulevard, Westfield, New Jersey for The Watcher series.
In reality, some of the scenes were filmed at the Amanzoe Beach Club’s Villa 20. The property is situated over the hills overlooking the Aegean Sea and has six pools and a spa. Each studio bedroom opens onto a private terrace. A night at Villa 20 costs $2,000 per room. And as you guessed it, the Glass Onion dome on top isn’t real. It was added in post-production via CGI.
The Glass Onion Atrium
While the exterior shots of the Glass Onion property were filmed at Villa 20, the interior scenes were taken in a built set in Belgrade, Serbia. This includes the atrium of the property and the main dining hall. “There was some outdoor stuff for which we shot a few things on location last fall in Connecticut and New York, and then everything inside was built in Serbia,” said Heinrichs.
Meeting Dock
The dock where The Disruptors met up was filmed on the harbor of Spetses Island situated near the Peloponnese peninsula. The characters also shot a scene at a five-star restaurant in the background of the harbor called Poseidonion Grand Hotel.
To head to the fictional island, production rented a 150-feet superyacht called Aquarius for a few days. The superyacht has five staterooms and a jacuzzi. The yacht can be rented for $230,000 for a week.
Benoit Blanc’s Penthouse
During one of the scenes, we find Benoit Blanc at home during the pandemic when he receives a visit. While we won’t give spoilers here, we do know that his penthouse scene was shot on the terrace of 778 Park Avenue in New York.
See if you can spot these locations in the trailer below.
