When Is Yellowstone Spinoff Series 1923 Coming Out?
The prequel actually already came out on December 18, 2022 on Paramount+. New episodes will be released every week. Right now, Paramount has not revealed the total number of episodes that will be available in 1923.
What Is 1923 About?
The prequel series follows the life of the Dutton family set 40 years earlier than the events in Yellowstone’s 1883 and 30 or 35 years before John Dutton III (played by Costner) was born. 1923 takes place during the Prohibition era that ensued after World War I. This was the time when Montana experienced an economic collapse before the Great Depression took place. The show’s official synopsis reads: “1923 focuses on the Dutton family’s next two generations as they struggle to survive historic drought, lawlessness and Prohibition, and an epidemic of cattle theft; all battled beneath the cloud of Montana’s great depression, which preceded the nation by almost a decade.”
