Virtual K-pop Idols Are on the Rise
Before the debut of the survivors in the GIRL’S RE:VERSE, there were renowned virtual idols who already dominated the scene. For instance, League of Legends debuted its virtual K-pop group comprising the four heroes in the game — Kai’Sa, Ahri, Akali, and Evelynn. They are being voiced by (G)I-DLE members Miyeon and Soyeon alongside Madison Beer and Jaira Burns. There is also SUPERKIND, a K-pop boy group consisting of five members — Geon, Eugene, Sio, Daemon, and Saejin. The latter member gained most of the attention because of the character’s visual and dancing skills. Meanwhile, Pulse9 created the 11-member AI girl group, ETERNITY, last year.
