While it is worrying that we still don’t have any updates on the fifth season, Nolan’s recent comments sound very encouraging since it is an indication that they are still in talks with the network about doing a fifth season in order to fulfill its plan and give it a proper closure just like what they intended and what fans are hoping for. Right now, it is hard to tell whether the series does end up getting renewed for a fifth and final season considering that HBO is now under the management of Warner Bros. Discovery, which has been axing a lot of projects recently. At the very least, we have an assurance that they are still trying to make it happen. A lot of fans are hopeful that the series will get a final season in order to get the closure that they wanted for the series and the creators will also be able to execute their five-year plan as they intended from the beginning.
