Just like any other films and TV shows that get released, a lot of fans are wondering whether this upcoming MCU special is going to be acclaimed and will be a successful wonderful addition to the franchise considering that it’s also their first venture in that genre/style. Last night, Werewolf by Night had its world premiere as part of Fantastic Fest’s secret screening, and, shortly after, critics and journalists who have seen it were allowed to share their early reactions on social media ahead of the special’s release. So far, it is getting a lot of positive responses with most praises being given to Michael Giacchino’s direction, production values, horror tone, violence and gore, an effective homage to classic horror films, and the performances of Gael Garcia Bernal and Laura Donnelly. It is great to hear that the special is getting a lot of positive responses since it looks like Marvel Studios’ first attempt at doing a one-off TV special is a success and will set a precedent for its future projects. Obviously, these reactions are just subjective and you may have a different response once you finally see it. It would be interesting to see whether these positive early reactions will also reflect the reviews once the embargo gets lifted before the special premieres. However, either way, this is certainly a great sign that this is yet again another satisfying entry into the MCU. The special’s synopsis reads: “On a dark and somber night, a secret cabal of monster hunters emerge from the shadows and gather at the foreboding Bloodstone Temple following the death of their leader. In a strange and macabre memorial to the leader’s life, the attendees are thrust into a mysterious and deadly competition for a powerful relic—a hunt that will ultimately bring them face to face with a dangerous monster.” Also Read: Werewolf by Night Director Promises Hair-Raising New Teaser Werewolf by Night is set to premiere on Disney+ this October 7.
