Although fans are still in the dark on what the next adventure of Loki will be all about, it’s safe to say that Season 2 will center on the Time Variance Authority again, a bureaucratic agency that functions to monitor and regulate all realities and timelines of the multiverse. However, after Sylvie’s drastic decision at the end of the series, what can fans really expect from the TVA?
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly after the D23 Expo, Loki Season 2 stars Tom Hiddleston, Sophia Di Martino, and Ke Huy Quan discussed what’s about to unfold in the upcoming series.
Di Martino expressed excitement about Sylvie’s next mission after she finally got her revenge with the TVA:
Sylvie’s decision to kill He Who Remains (Jonathan Majors) threw massive chaos into the TVA, and according to Hiddleston, this would be the foreground of the series.
Quan chimed in and expressed how excited he is for his MCU debut, noting how difficult it was for him to keep the secret even from his family:
Lastly, Hiddleston confirmed that Season 2 would pick up after the shocking season finale of Loki:
It’s no secret that the Marvel Cinematic Universe is now approaching the Multiverse Saga with He Who Remains’ variant Kang The Conqueror as the next Thanos-level threat. If we’re going to analyze the current MCU roadmap, it’s absolutely clear that the TVA will play a pivotal role in defending all realities from Kang and the other Multiversal threats.
The question is, will Loki Season 2 offer a more comprehensive dive into the Multiverse? We’ll surely know once it premieres in Summer 2023. Meanwhile, Loki is available to stream on Disney+.
