Bale played Bruce Wayne in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy, and even after more than a decade, some fans still believe that his embodiment of the DC caped crusader remains the gold standard for the character. Surprisingly, the remarkable actor leaped into another universe when he joined the MCU as Gorr, the main antagonist for Chris Hemsworth and Taika Waititi’s Thor: Love and Thunder.
Now, in a recent interview with Screenrant, Christian Bale admitted that he prefers to play the bad guys not only because it’s more fun but also because it’s actually much easier. Check out his full quote below:
If Christian Bale is playing the villain, there’s no doubt that he could absolutely steal the spotlight from the hero. Bale’s revelation about Gorr being easier to play than Batman might shock the fans, but it actually makes sense. To prepare for the Dark Knight film, Bale trained for six months to bulk up, aside from the rigid stunt coordination and the script he has to learn for the film, which easily explains why he easily prefers Gorr more than Batman.
Nonetheless, Bale’s performance as the eccentric and spine-chilling Gorr The God Butcher is something we’ve never seen before from the actor. Although his MCU involvement seems to be a one-and-done deal, let’s hope that Marvel Studios gives him a call for more appearances as Gorr.
Thor: Love and Thunder is now streaming on Disney+.
