Lauren Schmidt Hissrich is currently promoting the spin-off series The Witcher: Blood Origin and she also spoke to Total Film about the future of the main show. Not surprisingly, Hissrich hyped up the recasting, saying she is looking forward to fans seeing Liam Hemsworth as Geralt. “I’m so excited for viewers,” she said. “I think that it’s just a new chapter for us. And I think new chapters bring new energy and that people will find things to love. So yeah, personally, I’m really excited.”

It’s no surprise that Lauren Schmid Hissrich is looking forward to bringing in a new actor to play Geralt. After all, it means the show can continue with the seven-season plans even if Henry Cavill has decided to leave the series. On the other hand, some people believe Hissrich is happy about the change since there is a good chance that Liam Hemsworth will not be like Cavill, who insisted on staying close to the source material. There were initially speculations that Henry Cavill decided to leave The Witcher to pursue more DC Universe projects as Superman. It was also believed that he will be joining House of the Dragon Season 2. However, most fans claim that Cavill left due to creative differences with the writers. The Witcher: Blood Origin will premiere on Netflix on December 25, 2022. Henry Cavill will reprise his role as Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher Season 3, which is set to stream on the service in 2023.
