Lauren Schmidt Hissrich recently spoke to Collider where she was asked about the possibility of The Witcher Season 3 being split into two parts which would mean the latter episodes will be released later in 2023. The showrunner revealed that although it hasn’t been in discussion, there is a huge chance that this will happen. “We haven’t discussed that yet, but at this point, I think what we see happening across all sort of streamers, I wouldn’t rule it out,” Hissrich said. She then stated that the delay is not a production issue.
“I do think that, obviously, we don’t put anything out that we’re not incredibly proud of. So that dictates our entire launch date. And I think it’ll be interesting,” Hissrich continued. “Again, we have a way still a very long time, eight-ish months or so until Witcher Season 3 comes out. So God willing, we get it all out at the same time. But who knows, we’ll see what happens,” she concluded. This would be an interesting development on The Witcher considering that the previous seasons had all of its episodes released on the premiere date. Additionally, it would give fans more time with Henry Cavill, who will still be playing Geralt of Rivia in the third season before Liam Hemsworth takes over in Season 4. For now, it has not yet been confirmed whether The Witcher Season 3 will be split into two parts. However, there is a possibility we’ll get an official announcement in the next few weeks.
