Manila Standard reports that the items were shipped from Victoria, London, and were declared as “unsolicited gift-baby soft toys for personal use". The Bureau of Customs recovered the items in the Port of Clark which were supposedly bound to Bacoor, Cavite. It turns out that the shipment, containing 1.14 kilos of the said drugs (locally called “shabu”) was placed under physical examination after an X-ray scanning inspector noticed something suspicious within the package.Authorities were able to arrest two claimants of the shipment, but their identities were not disclosed to the media. This isn’t the first time a Baby Yoda toy was used to smuggle illegal drugs. Last year, a drug trafficker from Michigan was caught red-handed after he tried to smuggle 176 pills of illegal Fentanyl which were conveniently stuffed inside a similar Grogu plush toy.
