Speaking with Variety, Robert Aramayo started the comparison between The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power and Game of Thrones, “They’re very, very different shows. My job on that and my job on this were very different. There [Game of Thrones], I was recreating the young Ned that we all knew and saw. That was the job.”
Aramayo added, “Whereas here [The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power], it’s way more important to the boys - and this is what I love about them - for me to study First Age stuff, and bring the legendarium to the table in this interpretation.” The “boys” Aramayo refer to are Patrick McKay and J.D. Payne.
Aramayo played young Eddard Stark in Game of Thrones Season 6 where he was also known as Ned, the Lord of Winterfell who stands as the head of the House Stark, and the Warden of the North. It was a smaller role in the show.
Meanwhile, for The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, Aramayo would suit up as Elrond, the role that Hugo Weaving played before in the trilogies of Peter Jackson. Elrond is set to be one of the most important characters on Middle-earth, an Elf-ruler from the First Age until the Fourth.
