As reported by Variety, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 1 boasts a whopping number of 9,500 VFX shots used throughout Season 1 of the series and considering it will have five seasons, one may expect that the number of VFX shots will just grow over the years.
With 20 VFX studios on board The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 1, this number is still a lot for each of them to put it all together sharing assets and making it look cohesive throughout the show. Do the math, it gives each of the studios a lot of shots to work on.

Well, creating a whole fantasy world like The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power would really require such a high amount of VFX shots but having 9,500 VFX shots put together is a tedious job which requires high precision for every person working on it. Kudos to the whole VFX team!
