The absence was confirmed by Daliland director Mary Herron, who recently spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about the project. Herron addressed Ezra Miller’s recent statement about their condition and pointed out that it would be best for the Justice League actor to focus on themselves right now.

“It’s been very distressing and I’m glad that they have sought treatment and I don’t think they should be doing anything besides getting treatment right now,” Harron said.

Herron chose not to speak about the allegations against Miller and focused on praising the actor for their professionalism on the set of Daliland.“They arrived on set with a completely realized performance. They just dived very deep into the character, similar to how Ben Kingsley arrived on set,” Harron said of Miller’s performance.

In Daliland, Ezra Miller plays the younger version of Salvador Dali while Ben Kingsley portrays the legendary artist in his later years. The report also confirms that Miller was originally cast as James, the young art enthusiast who finds himself in the middle of Dalí the elder’s life and art world. However, Miller’s busy schedule meant he couldn’t commit to the role so Harron cast them as the young Dali instead.

The Dalíland world premiere will be on September 17, 2022, as part of the Toronto International Film Festival, which runs from September 8 until September 18, 2022.
