In the recent Creative Arts Emmy Awards ceremony, The Book of Boba Fett won the Oustanding Special Visual Effects in a Season or a Movie category, its only win during the night. It was able to beat other shows such as Foundation, Lost in Space, Stranger Things, and The Witcher, all of which are notably in the science-fiction/fantasy genre.

It’s also the third year in a row that a Star Wars series won the category since the first two seasons of The Mandalorian also took home the trophy in the same category during the past two years.

The official Twitter account of the series celebrated the win by congratulating the VFX team on their victory. The Television Academy account also shared a short clip of the team celebrating the win after receiving their trophies.

The series’ other nominations were Outstanding Stunt Coordination for a Drama Series, Limited, or Anthology Series or Movie, Outstanding Fantasy/Sci-Fi Costumes, and Outstanding Sound Editing for a Comedy or Drama Series (One Hour). However, they all lost to either Stranger Things or What We Do in the Shadows.

It is great to see the series taking home an Emmy award. Whether you like the series or not, we can all at least agree that the visual effects team deserves their win as they helped bring the bounty hunter’s galaxy adventure to life.
