The Return to the Show’s Roots
The Duffer Brothers held graced the FYC panel and teased what would the fifth season be like. “Five, the way we see it, is kind of a culmination of all the seasons, so it’s sort of got a little bit from each,” Ross said via Variety. “Whereas before each season was so distinctly… [Season] 3 is our big summer blockbuster season with big monsters, and [Season] 4 was the psychological horror.” ALSO READ: The Haunting of Hill House Spinoff: Why Theo is the Perfect Subject for a Sequel? True enough, the final season will adapt some elements from all the previous seasons. However, it will slowly return to where it all started—the first season. “I think that what we’re trying to do is go back to the beginning a little bit, in sort of the tone of one,” Ross added.
How can Stranger Things Season 5 be Like the First Season?
The first season introduced the show’s elements of science, fiction, and interdimensional monsters. Its story was much smaller than its predecessors, mostly focusing on the events happening in Hawkins. Alternatively, the fourth season saw everyone separated. Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) and the Byers family were in California, Hopper (David Harbour) was in a prison camp in Russia, and the rest of the group was in Indiana. Hence, just like in the first season, they would all be back in their hometown. They saw how the Upside Down managed to open the portal to the real world during Vecna’s (Jamie Campbell Bower) defeat. As the alternate dimension seems to have easier access, and the portal is believed to let the Demogorgon enter the town of Hawkins and create chaos, Eleven and the gang will surely have their hands full in Stranger Things Season 5.
