The official Star Wars Twitter account has confirmed that Andor will premiere with two episodes when it debuts on Disney+ this August 31. The confirmation was made when the account responded to a fan tweet that asked about the show’s premiere date.
Andor’s release strategy will be similar to Obi-Wan Kenobi, which also premiered with two episodes followed by a one-episode weekly release. Given that Andor’s first season will have 12 episodes, it would mean that it will end its run on November 9 and then wait again for the second season.
It is exciting to hear that the series will premiere with two episodes as it would mean that we will get a double-doze of its debut and we’re going to get around two hours of finding out what the series is going to be about.
The series “will explore a new perspective from the Star Wars galaxy, focusing on Cassian Andor’s journey to discover the difference he can make. The series brings forward the tale of the burgeoning rebellion against the Empire and how people and planets became involved. It’s an era filled with danger, deception and intrigue where Cassian will embark on the path that is destined to turn him into a rebel hero.”
