Based on this new footage, it looks like the series is going to be epic as they teased a lot of set pieces and space battles that we haven’t seen much in the other Star Wars live-action shows. They also seemingly implied that Stellan Skarsgard’s Luthen will also have a prominent role in the series considering his screentime throughout the trailer.
Besides Luna, Whitaker, and Skarsgard, the cast also includes Genevieve O’Reilly, Adria Arjona, Denise Gough, Fiona Shaw, Kyle Soller, Robert Emms, and David Hayman. Tony Gilroy, who co-wrote and oversaw the reshoots of Rogue One, serves as the showrunner.
The series is expected to run for two seasons as confirmed by Gilroy a while ago and it will showcase the entire five-year tale that leads to the events of Rogue One. Production for the second season is expected to begin this November.
