Spider-Man: No Way Home is set to return to theaters this weekend with an extended cut titled “The More Fun Stuff Version” which will feature brand new footages that were not present in the original theatrical version. However, it looks like this new version will also feature a new post-credits scene at the end.
As reported by The Direct, according to a Reddit post from u/KostisPat257, a new post-credits scene will be featured in Spider-Man: No Way Home: The More Fun Stuff Version. Instead of the teaser trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness that was shown in the original version, this one has a brand new scene from the film.
The post claimed that the new post-credits scene centers on Betty Brant’s final school news segment where they’re showing pictures of the Midtown High School students in Decathlon (as featured in Homecoming) and European trip (Far from Home) although, this time, it doesn’t have Peter Parker in any of them.
In other words, the new post-credits scene is showing the effects of Doctor Strange’s spell near the end of the film where any documentation or images of Peter Parker were wiped out as if he never existed at all.
This is certainly interesting new footage that they showed in this new cut as it gives us an idea of what the effects of Doctor Strange’s spell look like from the perspective of the people who were around Peter Parker prior to the end of the film.
It would be curious to see whether they’ll release the extended cut in home video or streaming so that fans will be able to see this new post-credits scene in case they’ll miss it out in theaters.
