Helen Mirren recently spoke to the Associated Press and she was asked about her Hespera action figure. Interestingly, the Shazam! Fury of the Gods star admitted that she had forgotten about it but still thinks it’s “fantastic.” Although she joked about how the action figure could end up being put on sale, Mirren claims that working on the DCEU sequel was truly enjoyable.
“It was wonderful. I mean, for me, work is worth making money, of course. And also, it’s my artistic expression and all of that, but it’s also fun, and there are certain things you do just for the fun of it,” Mirren said. “And certainly doing Shazam! is one of those jobs that was enormous fun.” She did admit that the heat in Atlanta and wearing a heavy costume were not ideal. Still, Mirren insists that doing the film was “great, great fun.” It certainly looks like Shazam! Fury of the Gods was a fun movie to film and we’re sure Helen Mirren isn’t the only actor who enjoyed being part of the sequel. Needless to say, it’s reason enough for fans to be excited about the DC flick. Shazam! Fury of the Gods is directed by David F. Sandberg and will bring back Zachary Levi, Asher Angel, Jack Dylan Grazer, Adam Brody, Ross Butler, Meagan Good, and Djimon Hounsou. The sequel will also introduce Rachel Zegler and Lucy Liu as Anthea and Kalypso, the demigod sisters of Helen Mirren’s Hespera. The second Shazam! movie is currently scheduled for release on March 17, 2023.
