However, there was one particular scene in the trailer that became divisive for fans which is the moment when Shazam threw a truck at a dragon and he exclaimed, “I just threw a truck at a dragon. I love my life!” The scene was called out for its obvious comedic effect which was deemed corny by some fans. Fortunately to those who didn’t like the scene, director David F. Sandberg has responded to the criticisms on Twitter and confirmed that the line is only for the trailer and it’s not included in the final cut of the film.
It’s a common practice in movie trailers nowadays to include scenes that are not part of the final cut of the film. In fact, they would even film scenes that are specific for trailers and not intended at all to show them in the film itself. It is likely that it’s the case for Shazam! Fury of the Gods and they included that moment in the trailer only for the sake of a comedic moment. The sequel will continue the story of teenage Billy Batson who, upon reciting the magic word “Shazam!” is transformed into his adult superhero alter ego, Shazam. Sandberg returned to direct the follow-up after helming the first film. The cast includes Zachary Levi, Asher Angel, Jack Dylan Grazer, Helen Mirren, Lucy Liu, Rachel Zegler, Djimon Hounsou, Adam Brody, Ross Butler, Meagan Good, and Grace Fulton. Also Read: Shazam!
