She then signed with Mercury Nashville Records in the early 1990s and released her debut studio album in 1993 to a commercial failure. She started collaborating with the producer Robert John “Mutt” Lange, who later became her husband and quickly found success in her second studio album, The Woman in Me. Released in 1995, it sold more than 20 million copies worldwide, spawned eight singles, and won her a Grammy Award. Twain received the music icon award at the 2022 People’s Choice Awards in Los Angeles on Tuesday, December 6. “Oh my gosh, this is such a privilege and a dream! Am I dreaming?
