Season 2 of the Netflix’s Shadow and Bone was already confirmed, but sadly, fans will have to wait a little longer. Based on the list of Netflix releases for September 2022, one thing is clear: the new season won’t arrive this month. Here’s everything we know about Shadow and Bone Season 2’s release date so far:
Shadow and Bone Season 2 Release Date: When will it premiere on Netflix?
As expected, Netflix already renewed Shadow and Bone for a second season back in June, but the streaming giant hasn’t officially confirmed an exact release date yet. Season 2 already wrapped production, but since the show is known for its spectacular visual effects, it’ll likely take several months to complete its post-production work. With this in mind, it’s likely that Shadow and Bone Season 2 will arrive sometime in late 2022 or early 2023. Executive producer Josh Barry shared a post on Instagram about going to Bulgaria, where the show films. Epicstream will update you with the latest details once Netflix reveals more information.
Shadow and Bone Season 2 Plot: What will the next season be about?
Shadow and Bone Season 2 will likely be based on the second book of the Leigh Berdugo’s Grishaverse trilogy, Siege and Storm. The official description of the novel reads: In the Season 1 finale, Alina may have unleashed her power to defeat General Kirigan (Ben Barnes), but the villainous Shadow Summoner still lives, and he is expected to be more problematic in the second season. In fact, Season 1 of the Netflix adaptation introduced the Crows, who weren’t part of the main Grishaverse trilogy. In the books, they were introduced in the Crows duology instead. Fans have debated about whether combining the storylines worked, but it response seems to be mostly positive.
