As per a report from The Hollywood Reporter, Damon Lindelof and Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy’s upcoming Star Wars project will be a standalone film, contrary to the previous speculation that it will be the beginning of a brand new trilogy. However, the idea of it spawning several sequels isn’t out of the question, especially if the new film becomes successful. Additionally, the outlet reports that the film will take place post-The Rise of Skywalker and could see the return of several characters from the sequel trilogy.
