It turns out that Ryan has been trying to woo Jackman from stepping out of “retirement” for years and it came to a point that he lost hope that his good pal would ever reprise his mutant role. The revelation came from Hugh himself who recently spoke to Variety about his decision to come back.He explains: “I think, actually, he’d given up. I think it was a big shock to him. There was a massive pause, and then he said, ’I can’t believe the timing of this.’“Reynolds also shared how thrilled he is to be working with one of his closest friends in Hollywood on a project that quite frankly is long overdue. He said: “Oh my God, I’m thrilled. It’s like old home week. To get to be on set with one of my closest friends each and every day is a dream come true.
