In March 2022, Marvel series that are on Netflix such as Daredevil, Jessica Jones, The Defenders, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage were brought over to Disney+. It was then announced that Daredevil will be getting an 18-episode reboot series titled Daredevil: Born Again. The show will feature Cox’s return as Daredevil as well as Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk/Kingpin. However, there’s still no official announcement if Rosario Dawson will be returning as Claire Temple, the nurse who frequently tends to Murdock’s wounds.
During a panel at Chicago Comic& Entertainment Expo (via @Laughing_place), Dawson talks about working with Cox before on the Daredevil series and responds to the news of the show’s reboot in the MCU. Dawson praises Cox’s performance, calling his performance “wonderful” and “dedicated.”
“Marvel’s continued to do that now with the MCU characters, to now see our shows be now part of canon and part of the MCU.” Dawson said during the panel. “Now he’s got 18 new episodes, it couldn’t be happening to a greater person, and, I don’t know, we really delighted in it.”
While Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock/Daredevil made his MCU debut in Spider-Man: No Way Home as Peter Parker’s lawyer, Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk/Kingpin made his debut in the Hawkeye series as Maya Lopez’s (Alaqua Cox) uncle. Recently, it has been confirmed that Daredevil will be making his MCU return on the She-Hulk series, while Kingpin is reportedly making his MCU return in the upcoming Echo series.
Daredevil: Born Again is scheduled to be released in Spring 2024. Marvel’s Echo series is scheduled to be released in Sumer 2023, and She-Hulk is set to be released on Disney+ on August 18, 2022.
