These three will lead the cast, but their specific roles have yet to be announced. Its story and other details have yet to be revealed but according to The Hollywood Reporter, Parasyte: The Grey is a reimagining of the original horror manga. In case you’re unfamiliar, Parasyte is a sci-fi horror manga by Hitoshi Iwaaki which was serialized in Kodansha’s Open Zokan and Monthly Afternoon from 1988 to 1995. In 2014, the manga received an anime series adaptation from Madhouse which consisted of 24 episodes and aired from October 2014 to March 2015. The series also got a live-action movie adaptation in Japan. As for its story, Parasyte follows Shinichi Izumi, a 17-year-old high school student. One night, tiny worm-like aliens called Parasites arrive on earth and take over the brains of their hosts by drilling into their heads. One Parasite tries to take control of Shinichi but fails when he wakes up. Instead, the Parasite named Migi takes over Shinichi’s right hand. This results in the Shinichi and Migi occupying the same body. They decide to work together to survive, fighting other Parasites along the way. Currently, there’s no word yet on a release date for the Parasyte live-action K-drama series, but it is confirmed to be a Netflix exclusive.
