This new event was teased via the official One Piece Film: Red Twitter account. There, a teaser of what to expect was shared, along with the event’s official website.
One Piece Film: Red – The Most Successful One Piece Movie To Date
In case you missed its announcement, One Piece Film: Red is the 15th feature film of the franchise. The film follows Luffy and the Straw Hat Crew as they attend the concert of Uta, the world’s most popular singer. Though it is soon revealed that Uta is the daughter of Red-Haired Shanks. Uta is a brand-new character that was made specifically for the new movie. But unlike other film characters, Uta is part of the One Piece canon. In fact, she had a cameo appearance in a certain manga chapter. As the film features Shanks heavily, it should come as no surprise that it was a big hit commercially. Upon release in Japan, the film became a certified box office hit as it quickly broke opening weekend records in the country. Soon, it also became the top-earning One Piece film movie ever, and that was even before its release in major territories such as the US and Canada. Last week, One Piece Film: Red was finally released in US cinemas, as well as in the UK, Canada, Ireland, and other countries. In the US specifically, the film became the highest-earning film on its opening day. READ MORE: Is One Piece Film: Red Canon?
One Piece Film: Red Uta Event
So, what is the event? Well, based on the announcement, what can be confirmed is that it involves the singer Uta. However, the announcement only features a key visual featuring the character along with the words “Uta New Event Coming Soon.” As it stands right now, the event is still vague, though it might be an upcoming concert or live performance tour. After all, Uta recently performed live on YouTube featuring the National Stadium in Tokyo in the background. If this turns out to be a concert series, it may be held live as well as live-streamed online given the large international One Piece fanbase, though we’ll have to wait a bit longer to find out what it will be.
