This YouTube star is none other than AmaLee (or Amanda Lee). In case you’re unfamiliar, AmaLee is a popular singer, voice actress, and VTuber with a big audience on YouTube. She has voiced a wide range of anime characters in English, including Ai Hayasaka in Kaguya-sama: Love Is War, Marin Kitagawa in My Dress-Up Darling, and Rui Nikaido in Odd Taxi.
While AmaLee is a notable singer, Uta’s singing voice will still be provided by Ado in the English dub. This means the original songs for the movie won’t be remade in English for the English dub. One Piece Film: Red was a big box office hit in Japan as it broke opening weekend records and also quickly became the highest-earning film in the franchise. Its story follows the Straw Hat crew as they attend the concert of Uta, the world’s most popular singer. Though it is soon revealed by Luffy that Uta is a childhood friend and the daughter of the legendary pirate, Red-Haired Shanks.
The film is set to have a general release in the US and other countries this November, with English and Japanese dub options available. Though ahead of the general release, a premiere and a panel for the movie will be held at New York Comic Con on Saturday, October 8. Here is the main English voice cast of One Piece Film: Red:
