With DC Studios ushering in a new era for the franchise, one would assume that James Gunn and Peter Safran would do what’s right, at least in the eyes of many. However, Safran’s apparent support for Heard is raising concern within the fandom.Speaking with Deadline’s Hero Nation podcast last year, Safran voiced his support for the Mera actress, saying that keeping her in Aquaman 2 is the best move for the entire film. “I don’t think we’re ever going to react to fan pressure. You gotta do what’s best for the movie. We felt that if it’s James Wan and Jason Momoa, it should be Amber Heard.“Safran’s previous comments would resurface following his co-appointment with Gunn and naturally, it raised concern within the DCU fandom.
