To start, Netflix’s Resident Evil is an entity of its own. It follows the same vein as that of the beloved game but there are a lot of new characters included this time. It’s a fresh take on the franchise. It follows Jade Wesker through two different timelines but did she make it out alive in the end? Here’s what happened in the finale.
Netflix’s Resident Evil Ending Explained: Is Jade Wesker Alive?
Netflix’s Resident Evil follows the story of Jade Wesker, daughter of Albert Wesker, on two different timelines: one in 2022 when they first moved into New Raccoon City and another in 2036 in a zombie-infested world looking for a cure. The ending is emotional, prepare for it. It focuses on Jade, Billie, Bert, and Albert finding a way to get out of the Umbrella facility but their chances are slim so they need to devise a plan to make it happen. Bert and Albert makes a bomb but they realized one has to stay behind to ignite it. With everything he did in his life, Albert Wesker knew he had to be the one to stay behind and ignite the explosive. Before everything happens, he hands a piece of paper with a name and address on it to Jade, telling her that the one on the paper can help her once she gets out. Jade, Billie, and Bert runs away and Albert Wesker stays behind to ignite the explosive. Even when Evelyn tried to stop Albert, he still manages to get on with the plan.

Jade gets to her gun but it is seen that she already has a fatal wound. Along with Billie and Bert, they go away from New Raccoon City and it was revealed who the friend of Albert Wesker on the paper is: Ada Wong. The finale of Netflix’s Resident Evil keeps the story open should there be a second season but one thing is sure: Jade is still alive though already dying. Whether she survives could be a thing for the next season if it would be renewed for another run. All eight episodes of Netflix’s Resident Evil are now available to stream.
