Netflix just canceled First Kill and as reported by Deadline, according to sources, First Kill did not reach the threshold of views that led to the decision of the streaming platform not to push through with another season for the series.

Netflix’s First Kill was released last June 10 and it easily slid up to the charts within the first three days of its release getting the seventh place on the weekly Top 10 proudly carrying with it 30.3 million hours viewed. It even reached the third place upon reaching 48.8 million hours viewed.

In the first 28 days of release, the threshold of Netflix for the hours viewed, First Kill got 100 million hours. Still, it seems that it wasn’t enough for the streaming platform resulting to the cancelation of the series.

First Kill is a vampire drama series based on the short story of the same name written by Victoria “V.E.” Schwad. The Netflix series is written by Felicia D. Henderson and executively produced by Emma Roberts.

First Kill follows Juliette, a vampire who prepares for her first kill to get a place in her family of powerful vampires and she laid her eyes on Calliope, a new girl in town. To her surprise, Calliope belongs to a family of celebrated vampire slayers. They ended up falling for each other making a complicated relationship.
