Neil Gaiman took to Twitter for his announcement of the incoming character profile icons to use on Netflix and the co-creator couldn’t decide which profile to use for his own. With the caption: “You dared to Dream (and, y’know, kept asking me when and whether they were going to show up). And it’s happening! The Sandman profile icons are coming to Netflix! Let joy be unconfined! (I’m going to be Goldie. No, Matthew. No, Goldie.)” Check out his tweet below:
From the photo Neil Gaiman posted, these characters will soon be available to use on the streaming site: Death, Desire, Matthew, Goldie, Lucienne, Lucifer, Johanna Constantine and the Lord of Dreaming, Morpheus, himself.
The Sandman Season 1 contained eleven episodes that ran from August 5 to August 19 this year, with its last two episodes as a surprise release for the audience. Its first season was focused on the King of Dreams (aka Lord Morpheus, played by Tom Sturridge) upon being captured by a group of black magic occultists. After his imprisonment for more than a century, Morpheus eventually escapes while also taking attempts in regaining control of the world of Dreaming along with the powers he once possessed.
It is no surprise that the show is getting a Season 2, since The Sandman series was adapted from Neil Gaiman’s graphic novels. Though granted, not a direct adaptation of the original source material, each episode covered the more relevant (and sometimes terrifying) storylines. The series then garnered 330 million hours on the streaming platform, making it one of the most-watched series of the year.
There is no official release date for The Sandman Season 2 yet, but you can watch all episodes of The Sandman Season 1 on Netflix. Also Read: The Sandman: Jenna Coleman Says Neil Gaiman is Planning Constantine Spin-off
