About Naruto and Boruto: Naruto Next Generations
This year marks the 20th anniversary of the ever-popular Naruto anime. Despite being 20 years old now, the series continues to be one of the most popular, inspiring numerous fans from all over the world, including NBA superstars. Though in case you’re unfamiliar, Naruto is an anime series by Pierrot that’s based on the manga of the same name by Masashi Kishimoto. The manga is one of the best-selling series in Weekly Shonen Jump as the series has over 250 million copies in circulation.
The anime series is also incredibly popular to this day, and it continues to have an active fanbase thanks in part to its sequel, Boruto: Naruto Next Generations. As its title implies, Boruto follows the next generation of ninjas following the climactic war at the end of the Naruto series. The manga was originally written by Ukyo Kodachi, though Masashi Kishimoto became the writer starting November 2020. Mikio Ikemoto continues to be its illustrator. The manga began serialization in May 2016, and it got an anime series adaptation from Pierrot in April 2017. Both the manga and the anime are ongoing.
