According to Deadline, Severance and Parks and Recreation star Adam Scott has joined the cast of Madame Web. The details regarding his mystery role in the film are being under wraps for now. S.J. Clarkson is directing the film. Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless wrote the screenplay.
The cast already includes Dakota Johnson, Sydney Sweeney, Celeste O’Connor, Isabela Merced, Tahar Rahim, Emma Roberts, and Mike Epps. The film is described as an “origin story of the clairvoyant, whose psychic abilities allow her to see within the spider world.” Due to her psychic sensory powers, she is being described as Sony’s version of Doctor Strange. It will be the first female-led film in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe franchise.
Scott recently received his first Emmy nomination for his role as Mark Scout in the hit Apple TV+ series Severance. He is known for playing Ben Wyatt in the beloved sitcom Parks and Recreation. He starred in films such as The Aviator, Knocked Up, Step Brothers, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, and Hot Tub Time Machine 2. He also appeared in TV shows such as Party Down, The Good Place, and Big Little Lies.
It is exciting to hear Scott being added to the cast of the film since he is a wonderful actor and comedian who is also rolling lately in his career with his acclaimed role on Severance. It would be interesting to see whether he will play a dramatic or comedic role as well as whether he will play a well-known character in the comics.
