Letitia Wright recently spoke to Empire about Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and she was asked if she will be the next Black Panther. Although the Black Mirror star chose her words carefully, Wright did admit that it was discussed a long time ago. “That’s a tricky question to answer,” Wright said. “I had a chat about it with Ryan and Chad when we were making Black Panther, and we touched on it briefly. When I realized I was playing Shuri, it was something that I really looked forward to.”

It’s no secret that Shuri has the potential to become a great Black Panther because of her brilliance in Wakandan technology. In addition to that, she had already proven that she can fight. With that in mind, we’re hoping that Ryan Coogler has decided to give Shuri her chance to shine in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Ryan Coogler’s plan was to put the focus on the supporting characters while also paying tribute to Boseman. “This unique group is more like a band than it is a group of actors, and Chad was our lead singer,” Coogler explained. “So for me, it was like, ‘How do I figure out a song that they can still get up there and sing?’, in light of what we were dealing with.” Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will bring back Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Winston Duke, Florence Kasumba, Martin Freeman, and Angela Bassett. They will be joined by Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams, Michaela Coel as a new Dora Milaje Aneka, and Tenoch Huerta as Namor. The sequel will premiere in theaters on November 11, 2022.
