A lot of people have been curious as to how Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige reacted to Gunn’s appointment as DC Studios boss and now, the MCU patriarch is once again addressing the matter.Appearing at the CCXP geek convention in Brazil (via The Direct), Feige was asked what’s next for the GOTG director, to which he jokingly responded (via translation): “James Gunn just released The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special. And let’s be real here, Gunn has already accomplished what he wants to do in the MCU, and seeking bigger opportunities outside Disney is quite understandable for his own career growth.Now, whether or not he’ll find his way back to the MCU in the future remains to be seen, but I doubt it’ll happen now that he’s got his own universe to oversee.James Gunn’s third and final Guardians of the Galaxy film hits cinemas on May 5, 2023.
