Jujutsu Kaisen Director Sunghoo Park and His Popular Works
In case you’re unfamiliar, Sunghoo Park is a well-known anime director from South Korea who is based in Japan. His career began when he joined Studio Comet, though his most well-known works are with MAPPA. Park was a key animator for MAPPA anime series such as Terror in Resonance and Yuri on Ice. He then made his anime directorial debut in 2017 with Garo: Vanishing Line. He also worked as the director of The God of High School, but his most popular work is no doubt the Jujutsu Kaisen anime which was released between October 2020 and March 2021. In case you missed it, Jujutsu Kaisen is an anime series by MAPPA that’s based on the manga of the same name by Gege Akutami. The manga began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump back in March 2018. Jujutsu Kaisen is one of Shonen Jump’s biggest hits as it has over 70 million copies in circulation. Its popularity was also driven by the anime adaptation. The series as a whole was popular enough that it got a feature film release in Jujutsu Kaisen 0 which was also directed by Park. The movie is based on the prequel manga series with the same title. After its Japanese cinema release, Jujutsu Kaisen 0 became a big hit as it became one of the highest-grossing anime films in Japan. RELATED: What Manga Chapter Does the Anime End in Jujutsu Kaisen?
