Park Bo Gum, IU’s Agency Responds to the Stars’ Possible Team Up
According to Soompi, IU’s agency, EDAM Entertainment, confirmed that the singer-actress had been casting an offer and is “currently in talks to appear.” In the same report, Park Bo Gum’s agency, Blossom Entertainment mentioned the actor hasn’t officially received a casting offer for the upcoming K-drama Life. “Nothing has happened in regards to his next project,” stated the agency. “He has not yet received a script or even any sort of contact [about the drama].” Life is a forthcoming series penned by When the Camellia Blooms and Fight for My Way screenwriter Im Sang Choon and will be helmed under Kim Won Suk of My Mister, Signal, and Arthdal Chronicles director. While officials revealed the possible lead stars for the new K-drama, Park Bo Gum and IU’s role is yet to be confirmed. Interestingly, this will be the first time that the duo will star in one series; however, Life will be a reunion project between the director and IU as the actress headlined the cast of the 2018 life drama, My Mister.
Park Bo Gum’s Activities After Military Discharge
It can be recalled that in August 2020, Park Bo Gum enlisted and served as a member of the Navy’s Military Band as a cultural promotion officer. Moreover, he also got a professional barber certificate during his service. After two years, the 29-year-old actor was officially discharged on April 30, 2022, and slowly got back to his activities after the military. One of his first engagements was hosting the 58th Baeksang Arts Awards and was reunited with Bae Suzy and Shin Dong Yup who were also the MC of the annual ceremonies a few years back. As for his small screen comeback, besides the possible team-up with IU, Park Bo Gum joins the star-studded variety show Youth MT along with Park Seo Joon and Ji Chang Wook. Apart from the K-drama heartthrobs, the 29-year-old actor will be reunited with his Love in the Moonlight co-stars Kim Yoo Jung, Jung Jinyoung, Chae Soo Bin, and Kwak Dong Yeon.
IU’s New Movie With Park Seo Joon
While IU is set to make a comeback to the small screen, IU is having a back-to-back film through Broker and a new movie with Park Seo Joon. The singer-actress has teamed up with the South Korean heartthrob for the sports-themed film, Dream. Helmed and written by Lee Byung Hun of Be Melodramatic, Dream follows the journey of one famed football player Yoon Hong Dae, played by Park Seo Joon, who becomes a coach of a special team after he went on a probationary period. Here, he meets Lee So Mi, portrayed by IU, a producing director who wants to have a successful documentary through Hong Dae’s team. While the movie concluded its filming in mid of 2022, the upcoming film aims to have its theatrical release sometime in 2023.
