Created by Josh Pate, Jonas Pate, and Shannon Burke, Outer Banks (OBX) features a group of local teens who call themselves “Pogues”, played by Chase Stokes, Madelyn Cline, Jonathan Daviss, Madison Bailey, and Rudy Pankow. From a fictional town in North Carolina, the Pogues are on a mission to search for the treasure worth $400 million in gold as they navigate their tense rivalry with the wealthy Kooks. The second season found John B. (Stokes) and Sarah (Cline) on the run in Bahamas, with friends and foes alike searching for the treasure.
Is OBX 3 coming this year?
In late September 2022, Netflix officially confirmed that Outer Banks Season 3 is not coming in 2022. The third season is set to premiere in 2023, and the streamer also dropped the first teaser for the upcoming season.
As expected, OBX 3 is not included on Netflix’s list of upcoming films and TV shows in November 2022.
OBX 3 Release Date Speculation
Now that we know that Outer Banks Season 3 is coming in 2023, one of the biggest questions fans are asking now is “When is the release date of OBX Season 3?”. Unfortunately, at the time of this writing, Netflix hasn’t announced an exact release date for OBX 3, but we can make a prediction. Since filming already wrapped for Season 3, it’s likely that it won’t take long before it comes out on Netflix, but knowing that Outer Banks is usually the kind of show that comes out during warmer weathers because of its themes, the third season will most likely not come out in Winter 2023. At the earliest, expect OBX 3 to come out sometime in February 2023, but we might see it released sometime in Summer 2023.
