Outer Banks Season 1 premiered at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic (April 2020), and the show delivered a bunch of on-screen getaways for the viewers. Season 2 debuted on July 30, 2021, and the show claimed the No. 1 spot on Netflix’s global “top 10 TV series in English” list for the first four weeks after the show’s premiere. The series stars a group of local teens who call themselves “Pogues”, played by Chase Stokes, Madelyn Cline, Jonathan Daviss, Madison Bailey, and Rudy Pankow. They are on a mission to find treasure worth $400 million in gold as they navigate their tense rivalry with the wealthy Kooks. Season 2 found John B. (Stokes) and Sarah (Cline) on the run in Bahamas, with friends and foes alike searching for the treasure.

Is Outer Banks Season 3 coming in November 2022?

No. Outer Banks Season 3 already wrapped up production, but it’s not coming in November 2022. In late September 2022, Netflix confirmed that OBX 3 will not be released until 2023. We double-checked the list of what’s coming to Netflix in November 2022, and as expected, OBX Season 3 is not included. Specific dates have yet to be reported, and it’s still unclear when production is expected to end, but it’s likely that fans will have to wait longer than expected. However, in late October 2022, Madelyn Cline seemingly slipped the release date for OBX 3. If you’ve caught up with the show, it’s likely that you’re excited to find out what will happen to the Pogues, and how they will be able to get the treasure, and how John B’s father will play a role following the surprising finale of Season 2. During an interview with EW, showrunner Josh Pate previously confirmed that “John B’s relationship with his dad is a huge theme [to shape Season 3].” “Having his dad back around and eventually they’re going to meet back up and John B has to reconcile his idealised version of his dead dad with the reality of his alive dad,” Pate added. “It gives us a lot of thematic father-son stuff to work with.”

How many episodes of Outer Banks Season 3 will there be?

At this time, the official episode count for Outer Banks Season 3 is still unknown. Since the first two seasons each consist of 10 episodes, it’s likely that there will also be 10 new episodes with a runtime of 50 minutes each. During an interview with Garden & Gun, Outer Banks co-creator Josh Pate teased that they currently have six seasons planned, but Netflix hasn’t confirmed a fourth season yet. “It’s going to get bigger,” Pate said. “Season two is an escalation of season one, and season three escalates from season two. The mythology of the treasure expands and gets, hopefully, more exciting. We never know for sure what will happen, but I currently have six seasons planned in my head.”

Did Netflix already reveal anything for Outer Banks Season 3?

During Netflix’s Tudum 2022 virtual event, a new teaser was released for OBX 3, which you can watch below:

On Feb. 28, 2022, Netflix shared our first look at Outer Banks Season 3, which features Chase Stokes, Madelyn Cline, and their castmates in what appears to be the island that the Pogues left at the end of Season 2. Stokes and Cline are seen holding hands, making fans wonder if the the onscreen couple are back together in real life after their split last November.

“It was our start of filming,” Madelyn Cline told Us Weekly at the 30th Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party on Sunday, March 27. The 24-year-old Knives Out 2 star attended the Los Angeles event with her costar Drew Starkey, and both of them were restricted from sharing details about the show’s third season, which is expected to debut on Netflix later this year. “We can’t say anything,” Cline told the outlet. On March 10, Chase Stokes pleaded to fans not to spoil anything from Outer Banks Season 3 as they are currently filming now in South Carolina. “I hate that I’m having to post this again but please, do not post spoilers of us working,” Stokes wrote via his Instagram Story. “This is an exhausting process, and we have a really exciting story to tell.” The 29-year-old Maryland native explained that he wants viewers to get the “full experience when the time is right" and not before the upcoming season hits Netflix most likely later this year. “I know you’re all excited and anxious, but I promise, it will be worth the wait,” the actor continued. As for what to expect in the upcoming season, actress Carlacia Grant, who plays Cleo in the show, told Hollywoodlife that “it’s all going to make sense” in Season 3. “There’s going to be a lot of things that maybe haven’t been explained, that are going to be explained,” she continued. “I feel like with season three, we’re really tying in those two seasons and everything that has been teased. It’s really bringing everything together.” In March, a video from Barbados was shared on Twitter, and it’s rumored to be from the set of OBX 3. The video shows a crashed plane near an island. On May 9, Cline teased Sarah Cameron’s evolution in Season 3, as well as the changes the Pogues and Kooks will go through. “We’re exploring a lot of different dynamics and story lines that we haven’t had a chance to yet,” she gold E! News. “I’m just really excited about everything that we’ve shot and everything that I’ve read so far.” There’s already a fan theory that claims that John B.’s father could actually be a villain, but no major plot details have been revealed yet.
