While you wait for the show to premiere, HBO released a new trailer that highlighted Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen and her dragon. If this is your first time learning about this prequel series, House of the Dragon is a series that is based on Fire & Blood, another book by George R.R. Martin. The author, however, revealed that there are some changes in the show. These changes are for the betterment of the series. The series is set in a time when the events in Game of Thrones didn’t happen yet. If you’re a GoT fan, make sure you watch House of the Dragon too.
When is House of the Dragon Coming Out on HBO and HBO Max?
While the series won’t be making its premiere in July 2022, you won’t have to wait too long for it. In fact, HBO and HBO Max have announced that the series to premiere on both channels on August 21, 2022, in the US. Meanwhile, the show will premiere in the UK on August 22. As revealed in Martin’s blog, filming for the season wrapped up in February 2022. This means that the series is already in post-production. The writer wrote: “Exciting news out of Lond - I am informed that shooting has WRAPPED for the first season of House of the Dragon,” The author also said that all ten episodes will be released in August 2022. In related news, House of the Dragon will be airing its premiere episode just 12 days prior to The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power on Prime Video.
House of the Dragon Trailer & Story
HBO has released the first teaser trailer for House of the Dragon Season 1. The succeeding episodes will air every Sunday at 9 PM EST. You can catch a glimpse of the Iron Throne in the trailer, looking more lethal than before. Daemon has added a voiceover that says “Gods, kings, fire, and blood. Dreams didn’t make us kings, dragons did.” The trailer also gives a peek at the key characters that will be joining Season 1. The trailer starts with Aegon’s Conquest, which is responsible for the new world order in all of Westeros. The series then follows the Targaryen dynasty, where we get to see both kings and queens dominate over the six kingdoms. Eventually, this leads to an intense civil war between Aegon II and Princess Rhaenyra, as they fight each other over the throne left behind by their father, Viserys I.
