In a recent interview with Screen Rant, Thorne revealed that she met with Robert Downey Jr. through FaceTime near the end of filming Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and shared some of the advice and encouragement that the actor gave to her as she is now taking the “Iron” mantle. “I wasn’t able to speak with RDJ before we got into filming or anything, but right toward the conclusion of the film, I actually had the chance to speak with him through FaceTime,” she said.

“A cast mate over on Ironheart had actually done a show with him and connected us, and he had some beautiful words to say about how much he believes that Riri Williams is and should always be her own person, her own thing. That this legacy is headed in the right direction and all the beautiful encouraging things that you hope to hear from the Iron Man himself.” It is awesome to hear that Downey Jr. gave some wonderful and thoughtful advice to the actress which also is a great “passing the baton” moment between them since Riri Williams is now technically Tony Stark’s successor in present-day MCU and is expected to continue the Iron Man legacy moving forward. Based on the responses regarding the character’s debut in the film, it sounds like there are plenty of fans who gave a warm welcome to her introduction and are looking forward to seeing what’s more they have in store, especially in her upcoming solo series which is expected to be a deep-dive look at the newest hero in the MCU.
