Recently, Ghostface returned in the first official trailer for Scream VI, which also sees the return of Melissa Barrera (Sam Carpenter), Jenna Ortega (Tara Carpenter), Jasmin Savoy Brown (Mindy Meeks), and Mason Gooding (Chad Meeks), who are riding a New York City Subway train car when they come face to face with a number of Ghostfaces in the middle of a crowd of cosplayers.

Now, the official Scream Twitter account has shared a brand-new animated poster which shows Times Square in all its festive glory, while several images of Ghostface dominate the billboards. Check it out here.
There are certainly several takeaways from this poster. Not only is it entirely animated, but it’s Christmas-themed too. It also teases a musical, a ninth Stab movie, and more - and we can’t wait.
Recently, actress Melissa Barrera talked about how Ghostface will be chasing victims through Times Square in the new movie. And now we know that Times Square will indeed play a huge role, at least going by this new image.
We don’t know much else about the film, other than the fact that it will take place in the Big Apple, and will be “a hundred times gorier” than the previous Scream movies, and both “action-heavy” and “gore-heavy”.
We also know that it’s the first movie in the franchise without Sidney Prescott actress Neve Campbell, who quit earlier this year following a salary dispute. Instead, Scream VI will focus on the survivors from Scream (2022).
Those characters are Tara Carpenter (Jenna Ortega), Sam Carpenter (Melissa Barrera), Courteney Cox (Gale Weathers), Kirby Reed (Hayden Panettiere), Mindy Meeks (Jasmin Savoy Brown), and Chad Meeks (Mason Gooding).
Newcomers are Dermot Mulroney, Henry Czerny, Tony Revolori, Jack Champion, Devyn Nekoda, Liana Liberato, Josh Segarra, and Samara Weaving, however, nothing is known about the characters they will be playing at this time.
A brief synopsis for the upcoming sequel is as follows:
As per Wikipedia, here’s the official synopsis for Scream VI:

Scream VI stars Jenna Ortega (Tara Carpenter), Melissa Barrera (Sam Carpenter), Jasmin Savoy Brown (Mindy Meeks), Mason Gooding (Chad Meeks), Courteney Cox (Gale Weathers), Hayden Panettiere (Kirby Reed) and Roger L Jackson (voice of Ghostface). Newcomers are Dermot Mulroney, Henry Czerny, Tony Revolori, Jack Champion, Devyn Nekoda, Liana Liberato, Josh Segarra, and Samara Weaving, all in undisclosed roles.
