Finn Wolfhard is officially on board for Ghostbusters 4, the sequel to Ghostbusters: Afterlife. While little is known about the film, we do know that it the franchise will be returning to its New York City roots, while “continuing with the Spengler family storyline” first established in the 2021 sequel.
Given that Wolfhard plays Trevor Spengler, it would be wise to expect him to have a bigger role this time around. With the firehouse back in business (as teased in the film’s post-credits scene), it’s possible Trevor will become a fully-fledged Ghostbuster alongside his sister Phoebe (McKenna Grace).
In a recent interview with CinemaBlend, Wolfhard addressed his return in the upcoming sequel, saying:
“I don’t even think they have a title yet, from what I know of. But I’m excited to kind of play an older version of the character as he’s grown, and just get back with everyone.”
Wolfhard will be joining fellow Ghostbusters: Afterlife co-stars McKenna Grace, Logan Kim, Celeste O’Conner, Paul Rudd, and Carrie Coon, who will be reprising their roles as Phoebe Spengler, Podcast, Lucky, Gary Grooberson, and Callie Spengler, respectively.
Whether or not Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, and Ernie Hudson will be reprising their roles as Dr. Peter Venkman, Dr. Ray Stantz, and Winston Zeddemore, is not yet known, however, Hudson has recently hinted toward his return in the upcoming sequel, while adding that he has his own ideas for the film.
