Now, Gonzalez took to Twitter to finally put the rumor to rest and clarified that she has not been cast to play Elektra in Daredevil: Born Again. She also called out the fans who have been giving her hate on the casting despite it not being true and noted that she has an exclusive contract in a different show. “I feel like I’m just gonna get it out of the way because, One I’m confused as for the amount of hate over this and two I feel like it saves people energy. No I’m not cast as Elektra in Daredevil I have already a on going series exclusivity contract to 3 Body Problem. Ur welcome,” the actress wrote in her tweet.
Since the actress not only denied her MCU casting but also pointed out that she is already committed to another series, this should put down any rumors and speculations to rest after weeks of being in conversations amongst fans who seem to be mixed about the potential casting of Gonzalez in the role. In addition, Marvel Studios has not confirmed yet whether Elektra will show up in Daredevil: Born Again and, if it does happen, there is also no information on whether they will keep Elodie Yung in the role or recast with another actress. Either way, at the very least, we have a confirmation that Gonzalez is not expected to play Elektra in the MCU when she gets introduced. Let’s just wait and see for any confirmation from Marvel themselves regarding their plans for the character and whether they’ll re-introduce her or not.
