The mention of the global fastfood chain actually comes as a surprise since Savoir is known for catering to luxury brands like posh restaurants, champagne brands, and fashion houses. But for Emily in Paris Season 3, the show welcomes in new potential clients like McDonald’s and even an unnamed pet product. And now, people are wondering if the McBaguette is real.

Which Episode Mentions the McBaguette?

The idea of getting McDonald’s as a client for Sylvie Grateau (played by Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu)’s new company was first mentioned in the first episode, I Have Two Lovers. Emily’s ex, Doug (played by Roe Hartrampf), called to ask if she wanted to handle the launch of the McBaguette in McDonald’s France. Later, Emily (played by Lily Collins) mentions the brand to Gabriel (played by Lucas Bravo), who asks her if she has ever been in a McDonald’s in France. When she says no, Gabriel brings her friend to a little tour. Emily realizes that McDonald’s can be marketed by Sylvie as an “un petit plaisir” (or a little luxury) brand because it is a swanky restaurant that’s far from the ones in America. In Emily’s words: “This is so chic! There’s no Grimace… no Hamburglar.” Fun fact: Julien (played by Samuel Arnold) is a huge McBaguette fan. In the same episode, he admits to Decider that he actually ate “two or three of those” since he was “so hungry that day.” Arnold said that he was told “You know, you can eat the McBaguette” and that they were “made it for the show as well.”

Is the McBaguette From Emily in Paris Season 3 Real?

Interestingly, yes. The McDonald’s restaurants in France first offered the McBaguette in 2012. The international menu, however, was only available for a short period of time. But in 2021, the product was brought back. And just in time for the launch of Emily in Paris Season 3, the McBaguette has been relaunched on McDonald’s French website. It comes with two macarons, fries, and a drink.

What’s in a McBaguette?
